…was fucking incredible. Anyone not there missed out in a big way. Iwanu Ga Hana (who don’t have a website, which is why I couldn’t find one!), Cougar Den, MANS. and Drowning With Our Anchors were all completely amazing and super cool people to boot. It was very humbling getting to play with all of them. Do yourself a favor and check them all out. If you’re a fan of awesome stuff you won’t be disappointed. Hopefully we’ll be doing more shows with all of them in the future. The turnout was great and everyone in general were really cool. Thanks to our friends who came out to rock, all the bands for being so awesome and the Guesthouse kids for letting us play. We had a really great time.

The other bands are all from out of town, so we’d really like as many of our friends to show up for this as possible. We haven’t really practiced one of the songs we’re going to play for probably a couple of months, but I promise the other bands will be fucking awesome. Insane gas prices (I paid $3.40 a fucking gallon this morning) have made touring extremely difficult these days, so please come out and show your support. Besides, it’s an all-ages house show. I don’t think we’ve played one of those since Nader’s joined the band. I’m supremely stoked to be playing a punk show again.

Our friend Gajus was over tonight and he showed us this video. It’s probably the funniest thing I’ve seen in a couple of years. I laughed so hard I was crying.

I thought it was just Todd’s posts, but last night someone turned the comments off of my post and inserted a bunch of invisible spam links (my favorite: “giant robot hentai”). I’m going to try to keep the comments off from this post and see what happens.

It was brought to our attention that there’s a big picture of us on the front of the Sunday Sun-Times music section. Well, there’s a big picture of Nader and Brendan with some of our friends looking bored in the front row (caption: “Angel Eyes revs up the crowd at Reggie’s,” or something to that effect). It’s actually a pretty sweet picture, and the layout looks really nice.

There’s another picture of Brendan and his beard doubling as audience members on the inside of the story. Our friend Gajus is standing next to him holding up a lighter, which should have been a red flag for whoever picked that photo to not use it. I mean, seriously. A lighter?

Oh yeah, the article is about new venues in Chicago, specifically Reggie’s and the Bottom Lounge, only the Bottom Lounge isn’t really new, just reopening after a hiatus. It makes local clubs seem pretty cut throat!
