Here’s some of the shit I’ve been rocking out to in my mosquito-ridden, hot and humid garage while I’ve been printing cd covers by the light of a single bare-bulb table lamp. I know, boo-fucking-hoo, right?

So Todd and I went to get our first tattoos yesterday. We both got spaghetti western tattoos because we’re so devoted to the band. I told Todd’s mom that we were going to hold hands, but Todd said no. Anyways, him and his wife Lauren have a friend named Greg who has his own shop in Crystal Lake, so we made the jaunt out there to get them done. We both had a good time and Greg (who is a kick ass guy) did an awesome job on both of us. I’ll have Todd post the address and phone number to his shop when he gets a chance. I brought my camera to document it, and did a pretty shitty job of doing so, because for some reason I didn’t take a picture of Todd’s finished tattoo. I guess I’m a bad friend. Whatever. Here are the pictures:
Todd just came back from the gun show:

On a completely related note, my arm is totally scabbed over and gross.
Edit: This is Todd. Here’s the completed tattoo:

Please note that it is also the cover of a Cavity record combining my passion for:
1) Awesome heavy music
2) Sergio Leone Movies
3) Playing in Angel Eyes
CLEARLY a lot of thought went into this shit.
Now B and Nader need to get Sergio Leone related tats so we can break up, hate each other and all regret our hasty decsions. Please get on that, B and Nader.
Anyway, Greg does an awesome job on tattoos (he just did a real good one on my wife too), he and his ladyfriend Renee are our good pals and you should get tattoos done at his shop:
Distinctive Arts

Crystal Lake, IL 60014

Tell them Angel Eyes sent you and… uh… they’ll say… well… uh, probably nothing. We have no clout anywhere.
On completely related note, my arm is surprisingly fine. I say surprisingly because I’m a gigantic baby with sensitive skin.

Here are some pictures of my son being totally fucking awesome with Guitar Hero the other day. He loves watching the notes scroll down on the screen and holding the guitar.

I don’t really know what to say right now, so I’m going to just dive right in and do my best.
We found out this afternoon that our good friend Luke’s newborn son, Vincent, passed away yesterday. As a parent I can’t imagine having to go through what they are; as a friend, my heart is absolutely fucking broken by their loss. While there are absolutely no words that can be said when something this tragic happens, Vincent’s father Luke, mother Jen and brother Benjamin are in our thoughts and hearts.
Rest in peace, Vincent. You will be missed.
UPDATE 08/13/07: My wife, Meg, started a charity-type deal with a few dozen people knitting and crocheting hats and blankets to donate en masse in Vincent’s name to Prentice Women’s Hospital, where he was born and cared for. Please check out more information here: www.knittingforvincent.org. Even if you can’t knit or crochet and still want to get involved, please get in touch with her about potentially donating yarn or money to cover postage and supplies. Thanks.
