Thanks for everyone we know who turned out for the show. It was a good time, despite the fact that I dropped three sticks in about ten seconds. Brendan says that one of his strings dropped a whole step, but I couldn’t hear anything that wasn’t myself. Black September was awesome, as were the Muzzler. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see Rwake because the show started like an hour and a half late and I had to get home and go to bed. I’m sure they were good, though.

Also, for what it’s worth, our new cd, …and for a roof a sky full of stars is now available. For the time being, you can get it from Justin, we’ll be sending it out to distros over the next couple of weeks. The plan is to set up a Flash player to stream the whole thing here, so stay tuned.

Edit: This is Todd. Nader and I stayed to see Rwake (we didn’t have to, you know, work in the morning) and they were awesome. Real heavy and tight. And they were really friendly as well. One of them complimented my Year of No Light shirt and we shared the French sludge-core love. Who would have thought that France would bring people from the North and South together? Call Bill O’Reilly and tell him the boycott is off!

So a definitely successful night, despite some of our technical/shitastic difficulties while playing. To add to the list up there, one time I accidentally turned off my distortion for a second when I shouldn’t have. Nader, however, says he played pretty good and was quite happy. Everyone seemed to think we sounded okay, however, but we’re our worst critics. We feed ourselves a steady diet of self flagelation.

Record covers!

I finished a lot of front covers last night. There was a snag with the label info not printing properly, but Justin is going to bring a stamp and we’ll stamp the stuff on the back and I’ll redo the screen so it prints properly. Tonight I’m going to be printing the lyrics, which I’m worried about because it’s all text and a lot of detail for my meager screen printing abilities. Anyways, here are some pictures of my shitty, cobbled together set up in my garage. Note the paperclips used as hinge pins and the use of a roll of masking tape and some cds to keep the frame off the printing surface. Nice, huh?

It took me a while to get a usable screen for the record covers. It was a little bit overexposure (I had to use a halogen bulb, which is a bit brighter than a standard incandescent bulb due to its higher efficiency) and a serious lack of water pressure when attempting to wash the screens out. I finally got it on the fourth try. I actually have a fifth screen set up in the vanity cabinet in our upstairs bathroom. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with that one. Anyways, here’s a picture from my first attempt a few nights back:

Printing will start tomorrow.

Ok, not really, but here’s a clip I found on the front page of BeastieBoys.com. It’s Stevie Wonder playing “Superstition” on Sesame Street and it’s fucking incredible. Seriously, those guys can fucking play. Note the little girl going apeshit in the background.

We continue to inch closer towards a release date. I overnighted that shit out yesterday and they had the digital proofs for the face art ready to go this afternoon. We might have the discs in as early as next week, which does us no good until we have the covers done, but whatever.

Home stretch!

I sent the cd out to be replicated today, and the covers are en route to my house. All that’s left now is the hard part: printing and assembling. It looks like we’re on track to hit our release show on the 19th.

Speaking of, Black September has been added to the bill, and I’m pretty excited about seeing them. It has our friends John (ex- bajillions of bands) and Mike (ex-Frontside) who, once upon a time, played in Destroy the Foundation who I absolutely fucking loved. Expectations are high.

Also, work his begun in fucking earnest on our side of the split 12″ with Germany’s own A Fine Boat, That Coffin. We’ve made a lot of progress in a very short amount of time, which is good because we’re supposed to turn it in by the end of the summer and we ended up scrapping about ten minutes worth of material and starting over. I think we’re all pretty excited about what we have so far. That will be out on Concubine Records (our friends from Italy!) hopefully this fall sometime. It’s looking like we’ll be recording the bulk of it ourselves, which should be interesting. We’ll keep the two of you who might actually read this shit posted.

Lastly, is there anything worse than a summer cold? Fucking christ, I’m miserable.

Later gators.
